The Family Hideaway is located in the Echerntal valley, very close to the Schleier waterfall and the Waldbach Strub waterfall, in the midst of the many small gardens and houses of the Hallstatt people. Right behind the house the meadows of the only farmer in Hallstatt begin. From here you can set out on foot for a variety of hikes.

There is no need to move by car. Or even better: leave it at home and just come by train.

It only takes 10 minutes to the historical village centre via the Echerntalweg which leads you along the lake. 

20 minutes, if you choose to use the cable car past the Arikogel and the catholic church to go down to the village.

5 minutes to the bus stop to Obertraun or Bad Ischl. During winter time also the ski bus departs from here and takes you to the ski area Dachstein West/Gosau and to the Krippenstein. The same goes for the bus to the famous sights Five Fingers and the Ice and Mammoth Caves.

4 minutes to the cable car up to the Salzberg and the salt mine.

6 minutes to our private garden of the Hallstatt Hideaway, which comes with private beach and lake access as well as further possibilities to have breakfast at the lake or a barbecue in the evening

The supermarket of Hallstatt is 5 minutes away.
